Bantams are great if you have a limited amount of space as their smaller size means they can live in a smaller area than standard large fowl chickens.A true bantam is a chicken that doesn't have a large fowl version of it. Large fowl chickens that do have 'bantam' versions are known as minatures.
The advantages of keeping bantams are:
Great if you have a limited amount of space.
Don't eat as much food as L/F chickens.
Easier for younger children to handle.
The disadvantages of keeping bantams are:

There are many different poultry houses on the market in a range of styles to meet everyone's budget. The general basics of housing are:
- Needs to be secure from predators
- Well ventilated
- Nest boxes 1 to every 3/4 chickens
- Perches about 2 foot of the ground
- Easy access for cleaning out.
- Handles if you want to move it around your garden.
Bantams don't require as much space as large fowl but the more space they have the better.
