Japanese

The japanese quail (Coturnix japconia) is a fast growing bird which reaches POL at around 6-8 weeks old. They can then lay up to 200 eggs a year. They live for 3-5 years but their fertility drops after around 26 weeks of age. The standard colour mutations can be sexed from about 15 days old but some mutations may need to be vent sexed. There are many different colour mutations of japanese quail including White, English White (usually have a few small spots of coloured feather), Tuxedo, British Range and Fawn to name a few.

We keep the standard and italian colour mutations.
