This was our first event of the year. There were lots more people than at the previous auctions held last year. Many people took advantage of our new show offers giving people a good discount when you buy sets of products (eg. 3kg feeder and 3ltr drinker set). Good prices were being fetched for ducks, geese and pullets (2 Buff Orp 09 pullets sold for £58).
This was a very busy auction which reached its 200 lot limit. The hall was packed full of poultry enthusiasts selling and buying birds. Prices on the whole were good with chicks, ducklings and goslings getting some of the best due to the time of year.(£35 for 2 goslings). We will be at every auction so I won't keep doing these updates.
This was the first Maidstone and District Poultry Club auction which was quite busy considering it was pouring with rain outside. The auction was held inside Larkfield Village Hall which was large and airy. We had a good range of products with us including our new combination drinkers with legs. Prices for birds were good with a box of 6 light sussex bantam growers going for £40 and pair of Dewap geese going for over £100.
This was Kent Poultry Club's first time at the Eridge Show. The Saturday was a little bit slow but the Sunday was a lot busier. There was lots to do wharever you are interested in with competitions and displays happening all around the show ground. More information about the show can be found on the website.

After a bad start to the show with our marquee getting broken in the wind, we managed to win 3rd best trade stand which was a big surprise after our emergancy set up and trip to B&Q to get a new gazebo at 3.45pm on the Sunday. There was loads to do at this show with lots of animals , main arena displays, fun fair, trade stands etc... and the sun even came out for a couple of hours. Overall a great day out for the whole family!
This was our second year at The Smallholders Show. It was another good show with lots of information for people wanting to keep a few hens in the back garden all the way up to somebody wanting to start a smallholding. This was our first show with our new marquee which is a lot more wind resistant than our old one!
With an attendance of 85,000 people this is the biggest show in Kent. This year the show was trying to re-engage the public with farming. We were in the Kent Poultry Club tent which could have been located in a busier area. Overall the show is great family day out with loads to do. Thank you to everyone who came and said 'hi' to us.
This is the 2nd biggest poultry show in the UK with 5,500+ entries and 400 sale pens. This year it was held in Hall 2 which was a great improvement on the old cow sheds.
Show Champion -
Large Fowl White Wyandotte
Show Champion -
Silver Spangled Hamburg Male
The largest poultry show in the UK with 7,000+ entries. Unfortunately the snow made it impossible for some people to get to the show resulting in a large amount of empty cages.
